Keep us quiet until we die

An illusion for the faithful masses
Adroitly performed by elite classes
Bending you to their dominant will
Their desires your heads they fill

They claim upon them you must look
To understand a religion, god or book
That you should follow their every word
No matter you consider it just absurd

Such men have led nations to war
Decimating populations to the core
Washing clean the soldier's brain
Often started for purely personal gain

So if in a deity you wish to believe
From its priests and prophets cleave
Faith is in your head so leave it there
